1 Thessalonians 5:25-26 Brothers and sisters, pray for us. (NIV)
My husband and I prayed for each other every day. We all need the prayers of others along with our own prayers. The letters in the New Testament are full of requests for prayer. There is amazing comfort in the knowledge of others who are praying for you. I miss that knowledge. I’m sure others pray for me from time to time but I miss the knowledge of consistent prayer. This is why it is so important for us to consistently pray for others. We need to be praying for Christians who are being persecuted for their faith. We need to be praying for those in authority. We need to be praying for our family members, our friends and our neighbors. Yes, the list can be quite long. We can divide our list and pray for different ones at different times of the day. When someone or something crosses our mind, it is a good time to lift them up before God’s throne of grace. When we pray for someone regularly, it’s nice to let them know we are doing this. Prayer of others is a faith builder as well as our own prayers.
